Can I change my support coordinator if I am unhappy?

Yes. You have the right to change your support coordinator at any time. You simply need to end your service agreement and begin a new one with a different coordinator. Your NDIS funding does not change as a result.

Do I need a support coordinator if I am plan-managed?

Yes — plan management and support coordination are two different things. Your plan manager handles the financial administration of your plan. Your support coordinator helps you implement your plan and navigate the NDIS system. Both can be funded simultaneously from separate support categories in your plan.

How much does support coordination cost?

Support coordination is funded from your Capacity Building budget under the Support Coordination support category. The NDIS sets price limits for support coordination under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. There is no out-of-pocket cost as long as you have sufficient funding in that category.

What is the difference between support coordination and specialist support coordination?

Specialist Support Coordination is for participants with very complex or high-risk situations who need a higher level of skill and expertise to manage their supports. It is funded separately and at a higher rate than standard support coordination. Your LAC or NDIS planner can advise whether you may qualify.
